The Fundamentals of Being Visible in AI Search

When reviewing an agency website for search visibility, we start with a customer question: which page helps someone find the right service? An effective cover and headline may attract attention, but a prospective client still needs to understand the work. The following sequence is our suggested way to connect technical checks with that information need.
Check page access first
Open an important service page without signing in. Does its heading, description and main content load? Is there a broken page or an incorrect redirect? Then use Search Console URL Inspection to review search-engine access and the selected URL. A page opening in a browser and being present in the search index are different conditions. A review log can be simple: page URL, observed problem, correction and recheck date. Assigning an owner to each item prevents a problem from disappearing between design and development responsibilities.
Which questions should a service page answer?
Consider catalogue design. After learning that the service exists, a prospective client may need to know:
- Who prepares product information and photography?
- How do the number of products and languages affect scope?
- Are printed artwork and a digital PDF included together?
- When are dimensions and printing specifications required?
- Who approves the design, and how are changes collected?
The body copy or a useful FAQ can answer these questions. Adding more keywords to the heading cannot substitute for missing information about deliverables.
Make experience specific and verifiable
Explain your contribution alongside a project image. Under “catalogue design”, distinguish work such as page layout, image preparation and production artwork. Do not disclose client information without permission or claim a sales improvement that has not been measured.
Identifying the author and sources helps a reader evaluate the material. Google's content guidance also emphasises original contributions and trustworthy source information. Helpful content evaluation guidance
Link to the next decision
Provide a route from a catalogue guide to the service, then from the service to relevant work. Link text should explain the destination. Google also uses links to discover pages and recommends crawlable link structures. Link best practices
We suggest selecting a few relevant destinations instead of listing every service beneath every article. For someone planning product communication, catalogue design and corporate identity design support different but related decisions.
What should be recorded after publication?
Keep a record of changed URLs and content scope. In later reports, compare queries, visits and enquiries for the relevant pages. Recording the service requested makes it easier to interpret the commercial value of those visits.
Start by finding the information gap that prevents a customer from deciding, then address it on the appropriate page. Creating hundreds of new pages does not resolve that gap by itself. For the conceptual distinction between SEO and GEO, read the comparison guide.
