Brand consulting for companies

Brand consulting isn't preparing a deck and withdrawing; it's clarifying the company's brand decisions and staying alongside them until those decisions are implemented. The work starts with diagnosis — where the brand is stuck, which decision hasn't been made — and continues into a written decision document. When implementation is needed, Creative House's design side sits inside the same agreement. Brand consultancy and graphic design are not always the same need. If the audience, offer or message is unclear, I clarify those decisions first so the visual work addresses an identified problem.

Who this is for

  • Manufacturers and technical companies with a strong product they struggle to explain.
  • Businesses reviewing their brand as they enter a new market or start exporting.
  • Organisations with no senior name internally to make the brand decision.
  • Companies whose structure got tangled as products or sub-brands multiplied.

What I usually find

  • The company knows what it does but can't say in one sentence why it should be chosen.
  • The same brand is described one way in sales, another on the site, another in the catalogue.
  • Sub-brand and product names have multiplied; what sits under what is unclear.
  • The difference from competitors is explained at feature level, not at the level that decides anything.
  • Brand decisions are put to a vote and reopened at every meeting.

Scope and deliverables

Consulting scope is agreed together, based on the company's situation.

  • Diagnosis: reviewing the current narrative, touchpoints and competitor positions.
  • Internal interviews: capturing how sales, production and management describe the brand.
  • Decision document: who it's for, what is promised and why it differs — in writing.
  • Brand architecture: how the master brand, sub-brands and product names relate.
  • Message framework: a shared copy core so sales, web and catalogue say the same thing.
  • Implementation roadmap: which touchpoint gets fixed when.
  • Implementation support: regular review as the decisions roll out.

I make the call; the system speeds it up

Diagnosis and recommendation are my work; the decision is taken with the company, but putting forward a direction worth defending is mine.

Work on the brand side

Below are brand and corporate material productions. Consulting outputs are client-internal and aren't published; what you see here is the work those decisions turned into.

How it runs

  1. 01

    Diagnosis

Current narrative, touchpoints and competitor positions are reviewed. The blockage becomes visible here.

  2. 02

    Interviews

Sales, production and management are heard; often all three say different things.

  3. 03

    Decision

Who it's for, what is promised and why it differs is put in writing.

  4. 04

    Roadmap

Which touchpoint gets fixed when is put in order.

  5. 05

    Follow-through

The rollout of the decisions is reviewed on a rhythm.

What I don't do

Not drawing limits is the most common source of disappointment in consulting.

  • I don't run market research or field surveys; if needed, that goes through a separate supplier.
  • I don't promise increases in sales or market share.
  • Trademark registration and legal protection aren't my work.
  • Internal restructuring and organisational consulting are out of scope.
  • If decision authority is unclear this service won't work; who decides must be settled up front.

Frequently asked

What's the difference between brand consulting and brand strategy?
Consulting is diagnosis and decision support: where you're stuck, which decision you need to make, how it gets implemented. Strategy is the content of those decisions: positioning, audience, value proposition and message architecture. They're often two stages of the same work, but they have separate pages because some companies only need one.
What do we end up with?
A written decision document and an implementation roadmap. The document is written so your team can defend the same decision without me — a working document, not a deck.
Do you handle implementation too?
When needed, yes: identity, web, catalogue and content sit inside the same agreement. But consulting itself isn't production; the two can be taken separately.
Why don't you show consulting case studies?
Consulting outputs are companies' internal documents; publishing them wouldn't be right. What I show here is the production those decisions became. An anonymised example can be shared in a call.
How is the project estimate scoped?
The business question, available research, stakeholders and expected decisions define the scope. Diagnosis and recommendations are distinguished from implementation. Workshops, decision documents and follow-up are agreed before work starts.
