Managing Map Information for Multiple Locations

For a business with several locations, current map information requires clear ownership and a change process. Visibility work should start with accurate business data.
Keep a location-level record
Record the name, address, contact details, opening hours and relevant website page for each genuine location. Know which authorised account manages the profile. Use the platform's permission controls rather than keep personal passwords in a shared spreadsheet. Assign responsibility for closures and moves so marketing does not learn about them only after customers report a problem.
Separate status issues from ranking
Use the official help process for verification or restriction problems. Appearing lower for a general query requires a different investigation. Google describes relevance, distance and prominence among local ranking factors. Results from different search locations are therefore not directly interchangeable measurements.
Match website and profile information
Check addresses against map pins, telephone numbers against call links, and published hours across channels. Photographs should represent the actual branch. Images from another location can create the wrong expectation. A single change checklist should identify every channel that needs an update.
Make review traceable
Record the review date, completed changes and unresolved issues. The objective is to help customers reach the correct place, not simply create visibility. This information discipline supports SEO and local visibility work, but it does not create a guarantee of a particular ranking.
